Bio:
Wendalena came from an artistic background from South Africa, where her mother was a famous Portrait Sculptor. So Wendalena's schoolbooks were covered all over with her drawings of faces and she made her first Portrait Bust, lifesize, in clay, when she was 10 years old.
Both in Bristol and London, where she lives, she went to Art Schools
and obtained an Honours Degree in Painting and a Postgraduate
qualification from Goldsmiths in Ceramics.Did a PGCE at London
University, institute of Education and has since taught Art and
Ceramics for many years in London Secondary Schools.
Last year (2005) she taught Portraiture Painting as well as Toby Jugs
made out of clay,at Crisis, the Charity, set up for the Homeless.
Wendalena is a vibrant, exuberant person,(quite unique in appearance!)
and relates well to people of all ages. She has exhibited her Artwork
extensively, both in London and currently, in Liverpool. She belongs too, to the well - known London Biennale of Artists, group.
She
has also been invited to Perform in Liverpool at the end of October

dances too, in a London Jazz Venue ,where she performs her own style of
improvisional Dance, weekly, before a very appreciative audience.,being
accompanied by various Jazz Musicians. Last year she was in a Pop

previously, she was also on Television, dancing for a Guinness Advert!
She says she loathes the stuff!!

Wendalena came working in
Clubland six years ago,1st at The Warp, in SE1 Club, then for several
alternative parties, culminating in the Synergy Project, three years
ago. Here she has introduced and hosted the highly popular and loved
Portraiture Workshop, which she runs on a regular basis, in The Cream
Room, betweeen12.30 -3.30am, providing models and all Art Materials.
She
loves nothing better than to nurture people's latent talents and many
who come to her classes, are complete beginners or more advanced
students. Several return to her classes, every Synergy Party! She puts
their amazing Artwork that emerges, straight up on the wall afterwards,
and her greatest joy is to give her students a strong feeling of self -
worth, accomplishment and happiness through their wonderful Portraits
that they produce, beginners or not! This summerof 2006 too,
