http://www.twomanting.co.uk Bio:
”Two Man Ting is the duo project of Jon Lewis and Jah-man Aggrey of Le Cod Afrique.
Improvised voice, guitar, loops and percussion create an innovative and exciting mix of Afro-jazz, Highlife and dance.
Jon and Jah have performed throughout Europe with many Festival appearances between them including Montreux Jazz, WOMAD and Glastonbury.”
Jah-man Aggrey came to the UK from Sierra Leone in 1985 to pursue a career in music, dance and theatre. He founded Afrikan Kultural Kontractors and soon became a regular performer at festivals, and on national tours.
Jon Lewis is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist who’s also played lots of punk, metal, folk, and principally, jazz. Jon has worked with artists as diverse as Banco de Gaia and Sir Peter Maxwell-Davies!
In 1998, he founded Festival dance outfit, Le Cod Afrique, and having met Jah through Leamington Peace Festival, invited him to join the band.
After a few late night jams, the guys formed Two Man Ting using Jon’s first love – guitar – and Jah’s traditional and improvised Griot lyrics. The first material was premiered at Glastonbury 2005 and since then, they’ve played at Whitby Musicport, Whychwood Festival, Exeter Respect, to name a few. Two CD EPs are available, with an album in the pipeline for summer 2007.
